Baby Bump from Past to Present

Baby Bump Maternityby LEANNE

This week’s “Maternity from the Past” post is all about Baby Bump from its beginnings to the present.  Though I haven’t known Robbie and Julie very long (the proud owners of BBM), I have known since the day I walked into their store that they cared more about the women (and families) that shopped with them than they did about making money.  From the beginning they have wanted to bring style and confidence to their customers, and it has only grown from there.  I decided today to talk about the impact Robbie and Julie will soon have on their community of clients because their shop has recently evolved from just that – a shop – to a style and educational mecca for pregnant women in the area and across the country.

As I met with Robbie the other day, he explained to me his and Julie’s vision for Baby Bump Maternity.  They always wanted to be a valuable part of the community they serve and felt that they could add to their already incredible shop and really give back to the women they see regularly, some through multiple pregnancies, through losses and through wonderful blessings.  From a.m. Yoga to classes on lactation, financial planning and nutrition, Robbie and Julie found another outlet to support their customers through pregnancy and beyond.  This new chapter of Baby Bump will begin in June and will offer women the opportunity to mingle maternity style with education and exercise.  In addition to all of this, Robbie expressed to me their deep desire to invest in a local charity, picking several days throughout the year to donate part of their sales to the organization, as they wanted to repay the community that has given so much to them.

I can’t help but believe that all of this outreach from Robbie and Julie is only the beginning.  As Baby Bump Maternity’s clientele has grown enormously throughout the years, so has its owners’ passion for style and support of the women that they serve.  I’m not sure where Baby Bump will “push” from here, but with Robbie always bounding with ideas and Julie always knowing how to fit the pieces together, more great endeavors are sure to be born.

And as Robbie and Julie have fashionably guided so many women, including me, through their pregnancies, it is truly deserving that they are now experiencing it for themselves.  I want to offer my own congratulations as well as that of the many mothers who have entered their store with all of the discomforts that pregnancy can bring and left feeling beautiful and confident.  From our hearts to yours, may you have a beautiful journey into parenthood!
