“Lady G” is not the Devil

By E.V.

Sorry y’all better late than never…..long night watching Grammys and this weather is ridick! Get over it – I don’t need to apologize you love reading my blog. i <3 y’all

Let me just start off with this picture…

"Nicki's Catholic/Exorcism performance was a work of the devil or at least a Satanic message. "

The Grammys start with a prayer to RIP Whitney Houston and then later on this Wack Rap exorcism performance by Nicki Minaj idolized by Sophia Grace and Rosie from the Ellen Show! BUT! We already had proof this was going on checkout the photo of her doing levitation on Ellen….LoL

Sophia Grace being levitated

Shout Out to Lady Gaga….She may not have won a Grammy but she sure knows how to promote world peace and safe sex on a music stage.  Last night was a New one…. She was promoting SLDTYNW  “Save the Lakes Don’t Throw Your Nets in the Water”

SLDTYNW "Save the Lakes Don't Throw Your Nets in the Water"

Dispose your nets in a trash can not the Lakes SLDTYNW "Save the Lakes Don't Throw Your Nets in the Water"

Best Grammys Ever.

Fail.

Done!

(Sophia Grace was not hurt in the episode of Ellen but I have no idea what happens to the fish in the picture-use your imagination)

Sick Babies – Haute Mama

BY LEANNE

My sweet babies have been sick the past couple of days, so sleepless nights and fussy days are going to make this post pretty short and sweet.  Whether I’ve slept 2 hours or 14 hours, I get dressed every day as if I were going somewhere.  It keeps me feeling like myself.  However, when the babies are ill, finding something cute and comfy to wear is more difficult, especially when I know I’ll be covered in snot by the end of the day.  I’ve posted a few options below from Baby Bump Maternity’s spring fashion.  All of these items are in store now, so hurry in while your size is still there.

Super “MIA” Bird, Commercials and Madonna vs Blonde Snooki

By E.V.

The Super Duper Bowl Halftime show was A “dash-dash” mazing! I actually could not believe the magical stage that popped literally out of my TV.  Madonna hit a home run -Only because she sang from the past. Her new song L-U-V… S-U-C-K-E-D and I was quite disappointed that her masculine arms were covered up and where was the cone bra.

Loved the power house of music celebrities “Cee Lo, Nicki Minaj, LMFAO” and thank you thank you M.I.A. . You complete me. There was no wardrobe malfunction, nothing like that glimpse of Janet Jackson’s nipple that caused an uproar.  Instead, it was an extended middle finger from the Brit during Sunday night’s performance. In front of some 110 million viewers on NBC and million others online, she flipped the bird and appeared to sing, “I don’t give a Sh@t” at one point, though it was hard to hear her clearly….NOT I heard it and I saw the birdie fly perfectly.

In case you missed it WATCH IT…BTW the “#” word trending on Twitter #MadonnaGasms <3 it! I surely did hehe :)

As for the commercials lets just say I had to cover Chi-Chi’s eyes. There was so much skin…oh but I didn’t mind Mr. David Beckham  H&M commercial “HOT”. But my winner winner chicken dinner is Doritos “You didn’t see Nuthin” commercial.

Lastly, I did stay up to watch “the Voice“. Two words Blonde Snooki …you are still my all-time Fave Christina Aguilera

Well I sure did name drop a lot of celebs.

The Dadechelor Party!

BY LEANNE

Anyone who has children can probably attest that his or her freedom was incredibly compromised after having a baby.  Between the long nights and fuzzy days, who could even think of going out, especially partying post-baby.  That’s why when I heard about the Dadechelor Party the other day, I had to write about this BRILLIANT idea!

Up All Night - The Dadechelor Party Baby Bump MaternitySo what is the Dadechelor Party?  It sounds like something that Chris (Will Arnett’s character) on Up All Night would have done before his baby.  Just like any party that celebrates YOU, it can be exactly what you like.  If you prefer dinner and drinks or clubs at 2am, then that should be your party.  Just remember to do it right.  You don’t have to wake up to a screaming baby, yet, and you don’t have to find a babysitter, so live it up! A night out with friends to celebrate those last days before having to plan around naps and feedings–who could resist?

The only problem I have with this idea is that it doesn’t include the ladies.  Sure, dads-to-be deserve their night out with friends, but so does a mother-to-be.  I personally love to see a prego getting down on the dance floor, so moms, let’s start a new one … the Mamachelorette Party.  Wow, that’s a mouthful! If anyone can think of a better name, please share.  So, if you’re pregnant and planning a night out with the girls to exercise your pre-baby freedom, you’ll need something fun to wear.  Check out my picks for your Mamachelorette.

Dream Giver

By Julie Allen

Do you have a dream that you have been thinking about but too scared to take the leap of faith and just do it? I think in each one of us buried somewhere is a dream or hope of something more, something bigger. Whether it is starting your own business, going on a mission trip, seeing the world or whatever the desire may be, it should be fulfilled! I am not sure what my dream is but I know I have one! The book I am reading titled “The Dream Giver” by Bruce Wilkinson is a wonderful, inspiring story about how we all are given dreams and what we should do with them. Some people go after their dreams but most of us are too comfortable to take the chance. It is scary to leave the land of security and comfort. It’s  impossible to fulfill our purposes if we are not living intentional. I encourage anyone who has a bigger picture for life to read this book. I know my main purpose in life right now is trying to be the best mom to Jameson and wife/business partner (Baby Bump Maternity) I can be to Robbie. I feel like I don’t always succeed at it, but I try! However, I feel there is more pieces to complete the puzzle but I am not sure what the big picture is. I am praying that this unknown desire becomes exposed!

Baby’s First Birthday in NOLA – What to do? What to wear?

Birthday Party Planning InviteBY LEANNE

My baby is turning one in a couple of weeks.  It’s unbelievable to me that a year can pass so quickly.  As much as I try to slow things down and enjoy each moment with my children, I woke up the other morning with a swift realization that my baby was 11-months-old and I needed to plan a party.  Though I should hesitate to admit this, he is too frequently eating some kind of cookie.  He’s had a sweet tooth since he was in the womb.  So, we fittingly decided on a Cookie Monster themed birthday–that was the easy part! The venue, the cake, the invitation and the attire (especially for me) have been the more challenging things to plan.  But, I love a good challenge, and I wanted to share my party planning journey with all of you.

The Venue

Storyland in City Park was my first choice, but my procrastination kept us from booking this perfect spot for a young child’s birthday.  My first child’s 1st birthday party was held here.  They offer a themed room with picnic tables, storage and admission to Storyland.

Bounce Spectrum or the Monkey Room are also fun spots, but these were a little too structured for our taste.  I’m not great at sticking to schedules, but both of these options are wonderful for parents without a lot of time to plan a party or who would just rather have some order to the party.  Not to mention, the kids are EXHAUSTED when you leave, which means long naps and downtime for you.

Because I loved the bounce idea so much but wasn’t enthused about having a party in a structured environment, renting a bounce house sounding like the plan.  I found several very reasonable places locally, but fortunately have a very generous family member who decided to purchase one for my boys for virtually the same price as the rental: view below!

The Cake

For my husband, it’s all about the cake!  In his eyes, a good birthday party is not complete without a traditional New Orleans style cake with the almond flavored icing.  I have to admit, it’s the best I’ve ever had.  Swiss Confectionery designed our wedding cakes and you really can’t go wrong there!  The top of our cake still tasted phenomenal after being frozen at our year anniversary.  That says a lot about a cake!   However, my husband (the cake king) has a friend who designs exceptional cakes.  We decided to go with Good Karma Sweets, who for a very reasonable price designs a custom cake with a separate smash cake for the little one.  See the designs she sent us below.

The Invitation

For this birthday extravaganza I went with one of my own designs for the invitation.  I’ll have it printed at RSVP Stationers, a local company.  They also design invitations and offer a wide selection of DIY printable invitations.  I’ve used them many times and have never been disappointed!  Because I don’t want to spoil the invite, I don’t want to post the entire thing, but here is a preview.

The Attire

After very quickly deciding that baby will wear his “I’m One” Onesie, I started to feel guilty that I spent so much time deciding what I’m going to wear…but I did it anyway! Our friends at Abeille NOLA have fun Spring and transitional dresses coming in regularly, and, of course, Baby Bump has some non-maternity attire and options for the nursing mom.

Oh Say Can You See and Seal it with a Kiss

By E.V.

Maybe hung over from all the American Idol tryouts Mr. Steven Tyler was a bit out of key…..NOPE! That’s his style and he rocked it out the park. I love his twist at the end the classic Areosmith ahhhhhhhhhyyyaaaaa however he hits that high note. All you haters please stop saying how he messed up the National Anthem. Do yo really care or do you need something to gripe about on a Monday. I swear ever since American Idol started, everyone is a Music Connoisseur. Just STOP! Thank You :)

Checkout his Video below and I have to say he was as fashionable as always! BTW AEROSMITH RETURNS TO THE STAGE THIS FALL

Now for some Hollywood Heartbreak </3  ….I seriously can not believe Seal and Heidi Klum are done! How can the most romantic couple just say they have grown apart. “”We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart.” -Klum

Twitter Feed: @Seal: The End. #tadaa

Oh Well, that’s Hollywood for ya! I guess I will have to wait for my next fave couple to get married Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian-Oh, geesus don’t get me started….LoL!

I dug up some pics of Heidi Klum throughout her 4 pregnancies. Klum loves being pregnant she stated in an interview and I have to say she wears it well.

To Hide Your Hoots or Not? That is the question!

By Julie Allen

There is nothing better than Jameson gazing into my eyes while he is nursing.   I love it!  But there is nothing more stressful when you are out to eat and there is no place to privately feed him.  I had this miserable experience when he was a few weeks old and we were still fairly new at this whole nursing thing.  I felt like I needed four hands.  One to hold him, one to hold my colossal boob, and two to hold his strong, squirming arms (how can an infant be that strong? wow!).   I was trying to feed him standing up because I really didn’t want to sit on an open toilet seat…gross!  But after him screaming franticly I gave in and sat on the germ infested porcelain bowl.  It wasn’t easy but we managed.  My knee supported his head, one hand was holding down his arms, and the other hand was helping secrete milk into his mouth. It was a pretty traumatic experience for the both of us.   After that night it was hard for me to regain confidence to go anywhere.  I don’t understand why it’s not mandatory for all public places to have some sort of “nursing area” available.  Can we start a petition?  Oh and to top it off I had to change him on a tiny sink countertop.  Thankfully nursing has gotten a lot easier now that Jameson and I have been practicing for a few months.  I feel like I can nurse anywhere thanks to my Hooter Hider! It is a nursing cover that resembles an apron except it has a wire neckline so I can see him at all times (and it’s pretty cute).  Some mommas don’t mind just whipping it out, but I prefer to be completely covered by the Hooter Hider.   If you plan on nursing and you are wanting to hide your hooters I can’t praise this cover up enough.  Here is a picture of the one I have but they come in many other prints.  And of course I have to throw in a picture of my baby boy!

I love that gummy smile :)
